The “Magna Carta,” signed in 1215, limited the power of which monarch?
Explanation
In 1215, English barons forced King John to sign the Magna Carta at Runnymede. It said that even the king must obey the law and could not tax or jail people without lawful process. Henry VIII and Louis XIV ruled much later.
