How BUK’s screening works
As of August 2026, per BUK’s admission portal, candidates log in to the Post-UTME Application Portal with their UTME number and aggregate score, upload a passport photo, and pay a screening fee before an exam date is fixed. The 2026/2027 screening window ran from 19 June to 16 August 2026, with the exact test date sent to applicants by SMS and email once registration closes.
Several school-news outlets that track BUK admissions report the screening as computer-based, roughly 50 objective questions drawn from subjects close to your UTME combination. BUK itself has not published a fixed subject-and-duration breakdown on its site, so treat the question count as a guide, not an official spec — confirm your own exam card once BUK issues it.
How your aggregate score is worked out
BUK combines three scores using a 50:40:10 split — 50% from your UTME score, 40% from your post-UTME screening score, and 10% from your O’level result. Here is a worked example:

Aggregate = 35.0 + 24.0 + 10.0 = 69%. Because the post-UTME slice is worth 40 of your 100 points, a strong screening score matters as much as your JAMB result — this is exactly what practising the question format is for.
