How OAU runs its screening

As of August 2026, per OAU’s admissions portal and screening notices, the exercise is a computer-based test taken from home or an accredited centre — no travel to Ile-Ife for the test itself. Only candidates who chose OAU as first choice in UTME and scored 200 or above are invited to register, per OAU’s 2026 screening announcement.

English is swapped for a general Aptitude section, while your other JAMB subjects (Government, Literature, CRS, or whatever combo you sat) stay the same. Expect current-affairs and quantitative-reasoning style items mixed into the aptitude portion. Question counts reported for recent cycles run around 40 objective questions in about an hour, though some school-news sources put the range as wide as 40 to 60 questions across 30 to 45 minutes — treat the exact number as approximate until OAU confirms it on your screening day instructions.

How your score is combined

OAU folds three inputs into one aggregate: your JAMB score, your post-UTME score, and your O’level grades. Your JAMB score divided by 8 is the one part every source agrees on. Sources differ on how the post-UTME and O’level portions are weighted after that, so we won’t guess a split here — check the official aggregate note on admissions.oauife.edu.ng once it’s published for your course and use that figure, not a blog’s.
