FUTO does not sit candidates for a separate post-UTME CBT exam right now — the Federal University of Technology, Owerri screens by verifying your UTME score and O’Level results on JAMB’s CAPS portal, as of August 2026, per FUTO’s own 2026/2027 admission advertisement (cross-checked with independent school-news coverage). What FUTO actually checks

Your JAMB score must be at least 150 to apply, rising to 170 for Engineering, Computing and Health Technology, and 200 for Medicine and Surgery, as of August 2026 per FUTO’s screening advertisement. Registration for the 2026/2027 cycle ran from Friday 22 May to Friday 31 July 2026, and O’Level results had to be uploaded on CAPS by 17 August 2026. How the aggregate is worked out

FUTO weighs your UTME score at 60% and your O’Level results at 40%. Multiply your UTME score by 0.15 to get its share, then add your four core-subject O’Level grade points multiplied by 0.1. Example: a candidate who scored 220 in UTME and totalled 32 grade points across their best four O’Level subjects gets 220 × 0.15 = 33, plus 32 × 0.1 = 3.2, for an aggregate of 36.2.
