A gbólóhùn oníbò is a complex sentence. It has a main clause and a dependent clause (ibo) joined to it.

In Mo kilo fun Bayo ki o sora re (“I warned Bayo to be careful”), “Mo kilo fun Bayo” is the main clause. “ki o sora re” is the dependent clause, joined by “ki”. So it is a complex sentence.

The other sentences, such as “Àde pa eja odo lanaa” (Ade killed a river fish yesterday), have one clause only. They are simple sentences, not complex ones.
