A simple sentence has one main idea with a subject and verb. “Ó rí Olú ní àná” (He saw Olu yesterday) is complete and simple. It has one subject doing one action.

The other sentences are more complex. They have multiple clauses, commands, or connecting words. Simple sentences express just one complete thought.
