Which organ is not part of the alimentary canal?

The alimentary canal is the long tube that processes food from mouth to anus. It includes the stomach, small intestine (jejunum), and large intestine (colon).

Food travels through this digestive tube where it is broken down and nutrients are absorbed. All parts of the canal touch food at some point.

Skin covers the outside of your body and never touches food during digestion. It is not part of the digestive system or alimentary canal.
