Answer 1

Apartheid in South Africa was a system that institutionalized racial segregation and discrimination. What year did it officially begin?

Explanation

Apartheid began officially in 1948, when the National Party won the election in South Africa. It then passed laws that separated people by race.

Later laws, such as those of 1956 and 1963, added to the system but did not begin it. It ended in the early 1990s.
