Which of these leaders succeeded Usman dan Fodio as the head of the Sokoto Caliphate?

Muhammadu Bello was Usman dan Fodio’s son and successor. He became the second Sultan of Sokoto in 1817. Bello was a scholar and military leader who consolidated the caliphate.

Umar Tall founded a different Islamic empire in West Africa. Al-Kanemi ruled Borno, not Sokoto. Muhammad al-Amin was not a major leader in Sokoto’s history.

Bello expanded Sokoto and strengthened Islamic administration. He wrote many books and governed for over 20 years successfully.
