Which Nigerian nationalist leader vehemently opposed the John Macpherson Constitution for not granting enough autonomy to Nigerians?

Nnamdi Azikiwe strongly opposed the Macpherson Constitution of 1951. He felt it did not give Nigerians enough power.

He wanted full self-government for Nigeria. The constitution still kept too much British control.

Azikiwe later became Nigeria’s first President after independence in 1960.
