The Nile, “le Nil”, is the longest river in Africa, at about 6,650 km. It flows north through Sudan and Egypt to the Mediterranean.

The Congo and the Niger are long rivers too, but both are shorter than the Nile. The Orange River is in southern Africa and is much shorter still.
