How did David first come into King Saul’s service?

David first served King Saul by playing the harp to calm Saul when an evil spirit troubled him. David’s beautiful music would soothe Saul’s troubled mind.

This happened before David became famous for fighting Goliath. Saul’s servants found David because of his musical talent and brought him to the palace.

David’s gift of music opened the door to his future as Israel’s greatest king.
