The Six Pillars of Iman (Faith) are: belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and predestination (Qadar) – both good and bad.

These are internal beliefs, while the Five Pillars of Islam are external practices. A Muslim must believe in all six – rejecting any one is disbelief.

Belief in predestination does not mean fatalism. Muslims believe Allah knows everything but humans have free will and responsibility for their choices.
