The process in which cell takes in solid materials by engulfing them is called
Explanation
In phagocytosis, a cell wraps around a solid particle and engulfs it. White blood cells use it to swallow bacteria. Phagocytosis means “cell eating”.
Pinocytosis is similar but takes in liquid droplets, not solids. Diffusion and osmosis move substances across a membrane without engulfing them.
