UNIBEN Courses and Requirement

Admission Requirements For Arts, Social Sciences and Management Sciences.

1) Arts Students

  • Candidate must have at least 5 credits in Mathematics, English, Literature in English, Government, Economics and Biology either in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or NECO (National Examination Council) in not more than 2 sittings and can be combined, that is, WAEC and NECO but must not be more than 2 years apart.

2) Social Science and Management Science Students

  • Candidates must possess at least 5 Credits in Mathematics, English, Economics, Accounting and Biology, either in WAEC (West African Examination Council) or NECO (National Examination Council) in not more than 2 sittings and please note that WAEC and NECO results can both be combined for admission process but must not be more than 2 years apart.

3) The candidate must make at least 200 pass mark in JAMB to qualify for internal screening by the University of Benin

Getting Admitted into Unilorin

Knowledge they say is power and this power is what I will be giving my readers in the following series of articles I’ll be sharing, these articles outlines all you need to do to get admitted into some of the best universities in the country. Let’s begin with the UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN.

First of all, let’s introduce the school. shall we?

The University of Ilorin aka UNILORIN is a university in Kwara state, located in the capital city Ilorin, hence its name. Unilorin is owned by the federal government of Nigeria and was established in 1975. There are 16 faculties in Unilorin and at least 62 departments.

There is so much more to be said about this great institution but I’ll stop here and go to the main topic of discussion which is about what aspirants need to know before the go ahead and apply for and undergraduate program in Unilorin.

Getting admitted into a big university like Unilorin isn’t as hard as you think all you need to do is read through this article and apply the knowledge.

There are two ways of getting admitted to study for a first degree in the University of Ilorin one is by direct entry and the other way is by UME i.e. through JAMB and post utme. For this article, I will be focusing on the later.

Application via UTME (JAMB)

The popular method of getting into unilorin is to apply via jamb straightaway; you don’t need to go through the 8months (2 semesters) of pre-degree studies before applying.

All you need is study the table below select your preferred faculty/course of choice and apply for it in jamb.

Candidates can visit the university website for more details if they don’t know what faculties their preferred course falls into.

Unilorin Post UTME Process

The University of Ilorin conducts her post-utme via a computer-based test (CBT), a candidate should prepare for at least 50 questions that will last for about half an hour or more.

The total cost of registration for post-utme is 2000 naira excluding bank charges, and this is done on the university’s website. The school’s post-utme cut off mark is a score of 50% and above but you need to score higher than this if you really want to stand a chance of being admitted, considering the vast number of applicants/candidate that applies to unilorin yearly.

Eligible Candidates for UNILAG Post UTME

  • Candidates who made University of Lagos their first choice in UTME and scored 200 and above are eligible for screening. In addition, candidates must possess five (5) credit passes at one sitting in relevant OL’evel subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Candidates, who are not sixteen (16) years of age are not eligible and need not apply.
  • Former students of the University whose admission was withdrawn on the basis of poor academic performance or absence status could re-apply on condition that tho new admission shall be for a new programme/course different from the former programme/course.
  • Any student expelled from the University cannot be offered fresh admission.

  • Click on Admissions
  • Click on Post-UTME Application

  • Proceed to any commercial bank to make payment or pay online
  • Return to the University portal, upload passport photograph and complete the application form

Candidates who made the University of Uyo their 1st Choice in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and have a minimum score of 180.

How to Obtain UNIUYO Post UTME Form.

Eligible candidates should pay a non-refundable sum of N2, 000.00 (Two thousand naira) only via the University Portals.

UNIUYO ONLINE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTION

  1. Visit http://uniuyo.edu.ng/eportals or uniuyo.edu.ng (Click on e-portals link)
  2. Select Admission Forms Link
  3. Select Post-UTME as the Admission Form Type
  4. Enter your phone Number and Email address
  5. Click on MAKE PAYMENT NOW button to make payment
  6. Payment can be made online using ATM Card/Internet Banking or at and branch of all the Commercial Banks using pre-payment slip through Remita Platform
  7. After payment return to the online portal and click on Register Link to obtain your login credentials to complete your registration
  8. Printout the Screening Exercise Schedule Slip

Note:

  • The same passport photograph used for the online registration will be used during the screening exercise and for registration after the offer of admission.
  • No complaint of wrong Bio-Data or blank photograph will be entertained after submission.
  • Candidates who up-load wrong bio-data will automatically be disqualified.
  • Inconsistency in passport on the registration slip will not be acceptable to the University. Candidates’ names on their O/L results, UTME results and other registration documents must be the same.
