Eid al-Adha is observed on the day of dhul-Hijjah
Explanation
Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, falls on the tenth day of Dhul-Hijjah. This is when Muslims worldwide sacrifice animals and remember Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son.
After standing at Arafat on the ninth day, pilgrims move to Mina where they throw stones at pillars and offer sacrifices on the tenth day.
This Eid celebration lasts for three days and is one of the two major Islamic festivals.
