Explanation

The sound /g/ is made when the back of your tongue touches the soft palate (hanka). They touch and then separate quickly to make this sound.

Other sounds use different combinations. /b/ uses the lips. /m/ also uses lips but differently. /n/ uses the tongue tip and gum ridge. Each sound has unique placement.

Understanding how sounds are made helps you pronounce words better. The /g/ sound specifically needs the back tongue and soft palate.
