Explanation

The ancient Egyptians (Misra) called the people to their east “Hausa” or “aussa.” This is a historical fact about what different groups called each other.

Egypt is west of the Hausa lands. The Egyptians had contact with eastern peoples through trade and travel. They used this name for those groups.
