Portrait drawings are two-dimensional because they exist on flat paper or canvas. They have height and width but no actual depth.

Even though artists use shading to create the illusion of depth, drawings remain flat surfaces. You cannot walk around a drawing like you can a sculpture.

Two-dimensional art includes all drawings, paintings, and photographs. Three-dimensional art includes sculptures that have actual depth you can touch.
