Explanation

Gehazi was Elisha’s servant who got greedy when Elisha healed Naaman the Syrian. After Elisha refused payment, Gehazi secretly chased Naaman and lied to get money and clothes.

When Elisha confronted Gehazi about his lie, Gehazi tried to deny it. As punishment for his greed and dishonesty, Gehazi became infected with leprosy.

This story in 2 Kings warns us that greed and lying have serious consequences.
