Explanation

Being joint heirs with Christ means Christians will share in the spiritual blessings and eternal life that Jesus has. This is a heavenly inheritance, not earthly wealth or power.

Christians still face suffering in this world, just as Jesus did. But they have the promise of future glory and eternal life with God.

This inheritance is secured by the Holy Spirit, who is a down payment guaranteeing what is to come.
