Explanation

After God sent fire from heaven to prove He is the true God, Elijah ordered the prophets of Baal to be killed at the Kishon Valley. This was punishment for leading Israel into false worship.

The Law commanded that false prophets must be put to death because they turned people away from God. Elijah was enforcing God’s law after the people witnessed Baal’s powerlessness.

This dramatic action showed that worshiping false gods has serious consequences.
