Explanation

The five daily prayers are: Fajr (dawn, before sunrise), Dhuhr (midday, after sun passes zenith), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (just after sunset), and Isha (night).

Each prayer has a specific time window. Praying on time is highly emphasized. Missing prayers intentionally is a serious sin in Islam.

Prayer times vary by location and season as they follow the suns position. Muslims worldwide pray in the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca.
