Explanation

The alimentary canal is the continuous tube food passes through from mouth to anus. The esophagus carries food from mouth to stomach. The stomach breaks down food with acid and enzymes. The small intestine absorbs nutrients into blood.

Food actually travels through all these organs in sequence. This hollow tube includes mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and rectum. Digestion happens as food moves through this canal.
