Behavioral adaptations are actions animals take to help them survive in their environment. Migration is when animals travel long distances to find food, water, or better weather conditions. Birds fly south for winter and return north for summer to find the best living conditions year-round.

This behavior is learned or instinctive and helps animals avoid harsh weather and food shortages. Whales, butterflies, and caribou also migrate seasonally. Animals use navigation skills and follow routes passed down through generations.

Camouflage, sharp teeth, and wings are physical adaptations, not behaviors. These are body structures animals are born with. Migration is an action the animal chooses to perform based on environmental changes.
